Our Mission
Third Street Child Care Centre’s mission is to provide licensed, high-quality, accessible child care for Infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school age children in Orangeville and the surrounding communities. We believe that the early years set the foundation for lifelong learning and we are committed to providing positive and nurturing early learning experiences for the children in our care. Our thoughtfully designed classrooms and our devoted teachers aid in the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of the children in each class.

Our teachers believe that children are capable and competent and plan and implement rich learning experiences that build a child’s sense of belonging. Our emergent curriculum focuses on the interests of the children while providing a stimulating environment that empowers them. We recognize the importance of the family in a child’s growth and development and share the fruits of these experiences through visual documentation of their child’s creativity and developmental milestones.

Our Children will have had lifelong experiences that continue to enhance their development long after their years at Third St. Child Care.

Third Street Child Care has a Purchase of Service agreement with the County of Dufferin and accepts subsidized families. Please see your centre's supervisor for more information.

We provide full day care for school age children up to the age of 13 on PD Days, and all school holidays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there nap time?
Ministry regulations state that there must be a quiet time in the centre each afternoon for all age groups. Children are expected to sleep, rest quietly or engage in quiet activities. Each child will be provided with a cot and parents need to supply their own blanket and pillow. The centre will supply a fitted sheet.

Does my child need to be toilet trained? - NO
When the child is showing signs of readiness we will work in collaboration with families to create an individual plan that supports the child and family.

Is Immunization Required?
All children attending this centre are required to be fully immunized or must complete Ministry approved forms for religious/conscience objections. These must be completed by a “commissioner for taking affidavits” (i.e. notarized).

Do the Children go outside?
Children participate every day in outdoor playtime, weather permitting. One hour in the morning and 1 hour in the afternoon

Do you accommodate special diets?
Please inform us at the time of registration if your child has any food allergies or restrictions. Children with documented food restrictions will be required to complete a Food Restriction and Sensitivity Action Plan for their child. Included in this plan are the individual requirements on what foods they can eat off of our menu.

We are a nut sensitive centre and ask that parents DO NOT send any food from home with their child; this includes gum, candy, or snacks.
